For WoW: Forever

Your quest guide,
from level one onward.

An arrow that always knows the next quest. Pick up every quest in a hub before you leave, hand them in together, take the right reward for your class, and follow the paths you have already walked around hills and walls.

Free · Windows and macOS · uses only the public addon API

Everything a guide should do

Built for how Forever actually plays, learned from real quest logs, not copied guides.

Next-quest arrow

Always points at the next thing to do: a pickup, an objective, a turn-in. Inside a quest area it stops giving directions and points at the nearest target instead.

Hub batching

Takes every quest in a village before sending you out, then brings you back to hand them all in together, no running back and forth.

Smart rewards

Highlights the reward your class can use and gains the most from, and shows the sell value of the rest. A mage never gets offered a mace.

Quest window helpers

In the quest windows you open, it accepts quests at your level, hands them in and takes the recommended reward. Class quests (pets, forms, totems, mounts) are never skipped.

Learned paths

Remembers where you have walked and routes the arrow around hills, walls and cliffs, with a light dotted route on the minimap and the map pin across floors.

Gathering mode

Herbalism and mining nodes on the minimap as their own icons, a route between them, and a reminder to turn on Find Herbs or Find Minerals.

Session stats

Experience per hour, time to level, gold earned and looted, quests done: a small line under the arrow and a full page in the window.

Bags and junk

Sells grey junk when you open a vendor and sorts your bags with one click: hearthstone and tools first, then quest items, food, usable gear, the rest.

One tidy window

Current, Quests, Leveling by level bracket, Nearby, Farming, Stats and Settings, in a classic Azeroth look, with every option as a checkbox.

Up and running in a minute

No accounts, no sign-up, nothing to configure.

Download and install

Run the installer and choose your World of Warcraft folder. The addon goes into every game folder it finds (_classic_beta_ and others).

Start the game

Enable WowAgentLink in the AddOns list if needed. The arrow appears at the bottom of the screen; the ◆ button on the minimap opens the window.

Just play

Follow the arrow. Every /reload or logout saves what you learned, and your discoveries help make the guide better for everyone.

Download

Choose your system. The installers include the addon and the small background program that shares your guide logs with us.

Windows

One installer for Windows 10 and 11. Uninstall any time from Settings → Apps.

WowAgent-Setup.exe Windows may say the app is from an unknown publisher (it is not code-signed yet): choose More info → Run anyway.

macOS

Open the disk image and double-click Install WowAgent.command.

WowAgent.dmg First launch: right-click the installer → Open, because it is not notarized yet.

Addon only

Just the addon, without log sharing. Unzip into _classic_beta_\Interface\AddOns\.

WowAgentLink.zip Without the background program, a beta bug makes the addon forget its data between sessions.

What is shared, and what is not

Plain and complete, so you can decide.

Shared

  • The addon's own saved file, WowAgentLink.lua, whenever the game writes it.
  • Quest events, NPCs, mobs, gathering nodes and the paths you walked.
  • Your characters' names, levels and classes, the addon settings and its developer log.
  • Your WoW account folder name only as a one-way hash.

Never

  • No other file on your computer is read.
  • Nothing is read from the game's memory, and no input is ever sent to the game.
  • The addon itself sends nothing: it uses only the public addon API.
  • No passwords, chat, or Battle.net account details.

Questions

Is this allowed?

WowAgent is a normal addon written with Blizzard's public addon API, like any quest guide. It only presses buttons in quest and vendor windows you opened yourself; it never moves your character or plays for you.

Why is there a background program?

Two reasons: it sends your guide logs so the guide keeps improving, and it works around a WoW: Forever beta bug where addons lose their saved data between sessions.

How do I stop sharing?

Uninstall WowAgent (Windows: Settings → Apps; macOS: run Uninstall WowAgent.command from the disk image), or use the addon-only download.

The arrow does not show up.

Check that WowAgentLink is enabled in the AddOns list on the character screen, then /reload. The ◆ minimap button opens the window and its Settings page.
